We recently received a Query from Mr.Shreenidhi R Kulkarni, who is working as a lecturer at Gogte Institute of Technology, Belgaum. The topic was regarding selection criteria for a vacant position. We are posting the same over here so that the information may be helpful for other too.

Here content of the mail is as follows:


This mail is regarding a query concerned to the selection of candidates for the vacant positions at your company.
Now there are few students/friends who are interested in joining the IT companies in Belgaum but some of them have not finished their degree yet. In a broader sense they have just one more exam to clear which unfortunately will be held in December 2010/January 2011. Until then they are absolutely free.

My query is will your company support such students by hiring them based on your regular selection criteria, just relaxing one criteria saying the respective candidate should have finished his/her degree. The hired students may be on probation or on performance based if they are accepted.

Please let me know regarding the query.

We appreciate your concern for the students.

At dotCORD marks/academics is not the only criteria for selection. Our recruitment process mainly depends on technical capabilities of the candidate. We also look for those are willing to learn and stay for long time in the company.

If we find the candidate to be suitable, we do not mind providing him time to clear his subjects. At the same time his work at the company should not be effected by his preparations for the exam.
